Excalibur!

Uhh, yeah, I can't really explain this one lmao. I'm so normal about this 40 year old announcer/wrestler (I am biting him like a chew toy as we speak). I'll give a brief biography about this dude. He's originally from Detroit, but moved to California to become a pro wrestler. He trained with Super Dragon, and they formed Team Chismo with another indie wrestler, Disco Machine. The three Team Chismo members, along with Scott Lost, Top Gun Talwar, and Joey Ryan (ew), started Pro Wrestling Guerrilla. Excalibur became one of the commentators for PWG, while also wrestling. He retired from wrestling in early 2007, but stayed in PWG as their lead commentator/Commissioner of Food & Drink (that later got changed to the Liasion to the Board of Directors, RIP). In 2019, Excalibur started commentating for All Elite Wrestling. He currently commentates on AEW Dynamite & Rampage, and was a former commentator on AEW Dark (again, RIP).

So yeah, Excalibur is my emotional support middle aged man. I took an interest in him after I started going back to watch older episodes of Dynamite, where William Regal was actually going insane flirting with him on commentary. RIP you old gay bastard (he's not dead, he just went back to WWE). I realized that I never actually questioned there being a guy wearing a mask on commentary, so I wanted to learn more about him lol. I found some of his matches, and this led to my PWG hyperfixation, which has been causing me psychic damage ever since.

Even though Excalibur wasn't an active wrestler for very long (only from around 1999 to 2007), he actually held a couple titles! He's a one-time PWG Tag Team Champion (with Super Dragon), and a one-time DDT Ironman Heavymetalweight Champion. The history of the Ironman Heavymetalweight Championship is insane (there has been over 1,500 different reigns), but that's a topic for another page. As a commentator, he's also won the Wrestling Observer Newsletter award for Best Television Announcer in 2020 and 2021. He was also a part of the Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame's Class of 2023!!

So, uh, another thing. Ex wasn't actually very good at wrestling lmao. I am very aware of my rose tinted glasses watching his matches, but man, I can't help it!!!

Since Excalibur isn't super popular, there aren't many graphics I could include. I'll be making some stamps and blinkies myself though lol. I actually made the favicon for this page!
